Description

We are a growing company in the Alberta solar power market. We are one of very few exhibiting stability in market share and consistent growth. We are looking for an energetic and self-starting individual to help our growing company continue on its healthy trajectory.

We have developed a team of diverse and skilled individuals all working toward the same end goals. We are all self-starters and skilled in our area of responsibility.

We are looking to add to our team immediately in order to help facilitate another expansion.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Solar PV system design including SLD, plot and construction details
  • Technical support to sales rep.’s (including client site visits)
  • Installer tech. support
  • Pull applicable permits
  • Complete relevant applications for solar power projects
  • Order equipment for projects
  • Compile client binders and manual
  • Support website development

Knowledge and skills

  • Fluent understanding of PV solar power design
  • Understanding of PV solar power installation best practices
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets
  • Strong interpersonal skills including written and verbal English
  • Able to work individually and self-start
  • Proficient with 2D CAD (we use Draftsight) including general drafting knowledge
  • Must be able to climb stairs and sit in an office chair for multiple hours each work day

Education required

Diploma in Renewable/Alternative Energy Engineering Technology or similar

Certification required

Diploma in Renewable/Alternative Energy Engineering Technology or similar

Eligibility criteria

Qualified interns are:

  • Post-secondary graduates
  • No more than 30 years of age at the start of the internship
  • Canadian citizens, permanent residents or persons granted refugee status in Canada*
  • Legally allowed to work according to the relevant provincial and Canadian legislation and regulations
  • Not receiving employment insurance during their internship
  • Available to work for at least six months

*Refugee protection must be conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act. Persons awaiting refugee status, as well as those who hold a temporary visitor visa, student visa or work visa, are ineligible to participate in a Youth Employment Strategy initiative.
