Origen Clean's SDG Ambassador will focus on sustainable business development, research, and developing policies related to climate action, good health and well-being, and sustainable cities and communities. Specific duties and responsibilities will include developing a business plan that offers sustainable products and services, conducting research on ethical supply chains, and developing sustainable branding strategies.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Develop a business plan that offers sustainable products and services 
  • Conduct research on ethical supply chains 
  • Develop and implement sustainable branding strategies
  • Conduct research on how Origen Clean can be a part of a circular economy
  • Continuously improve our Sustainability Guiding Principles and Practical Steps, as well as our Supplier Sustainability Questionnaire

Knowledge and skills

  • In-depth knowledge on the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
  • An interest in environmental sustainability, workplace health and wellness, and client discovery and success
  • A strong desire to learn, contribute and be a part of a growing start-up
  • A passion for building relationships with potential and current clients
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Relevant independent on-the-side projects (bonus)
  • Interested in building the skills most valued in the future job market
  • Able to work independently as well as part of a team
  • A self-starter with the ability to manage and execute with minimal supervision

Education required

  • A full-time or part-time post-secondary student studying Business or Social Sciences

Certification required


Eligibility criteria

Qualified interns are:

  • Between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the internship
  • Canadian citizens, permanent residents or persons granted refugee status in Canada1
  • Legally allowed to work according to the relevant provincial and Canadian legislation and regulations
  • Available to participate in an ImpAct internship for a flexible duration of up to 6 months by March 1, 2021
  • Not employees of the hiring employer prior to the start of their internship (does not apply to previous coop students or student interns, although this must be clearly indicated by the employer)

1Refugee protection must be conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act. Persons awaiting refugee status, as well as those who hold a temporary visitor visa, student visa or work visa, are ineligible to participate in a Youth Employment Strategy initiative.
