  • Passion for cloud technology, automation, and innovation

  • Code Management, Modification, Auditing experience
  • At least 2 years of experience in Analyst and/or Developer role
  • PowerShell, DevOps, GIT, PHP, SQL, Azure

Duties and responsibilities

Innovate, Design, Develop, Automate, Debug, Support the following:

  • New and existing process automation scripts
  • Custom PHP based web application for customer
  • PowerShell tools and scripts
  • Source code management processes
  • Integrations between systems
  • Liaise with front-end developers for HTML/PHP when necessary
  • PS Module upgrades

Knowledge and skills

  • 2+ years of PowerShell experience
  • 3+ years MS SQL
  • Working knowledge of PHP, HTML
  • Supporting IT Staff with advanced PowerShell issues and script error resolution
  • PowerShell Modules and Management
  • PowerShell error checking/debugging
  • Interpersonal skills: such as telephone skills, communication skills, active listening and customer-care
  • Source code management/Azure VSTS/DevOps/GIT repository
  • Ability to multi-task and adapt to changes quickly
  • Understanding of support tools, techniques, and how technology is used to provide IT services
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast moving environment
  • A valid driver’s license, insurance and access to a vehicle
  • Microsoft Flow and/or Azure Functions experience is beneficial

Education required

  • University Degree/College Diploma in IT or related field

Eligibility criteria

Qualified interns are:

  • Starting the internship within two years of receiving their post-secondary diploma
  • Underemployed (employed below their level of education or work part-time)
  • No more than 30 years of age at the start of the internship
  • Canadian citizens, permanent residents or persons granted refugee status in Canada*
  • Legally allowed to work according to the relevant provincial and Canadian legislation and regulations
  • Not receiving employment insurance during their internship
  • Available to work for at least six months

*Refugee protection must be conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act. Persons awaiting refugee status, as well as those who hold a temporary visitor visa, student visa or work visa, are ineligible to participate in a Youth Employment Strategy initiative.
