Elocity Technologies Inc. (Elocity) is a Cleantech company based in Toronto, ON. Elocity is incubated at Center for Urban Energy Ryerson (CUE), and is also mentored through the Accelerator Centre’s JumpStart™ program. Elocity has developed solutions for solving the challenges in electric vehicle space and renewable energy space. We are transforming the transportation electrification and renewable energy journey for electric utilities, cities, and businesses, supporting national and local ambitions for cleaner and sustainable energy systems, and help in decarbonizing the grid.


At Elocity we support innovations in technologies for decarbonization of electricity grids. We are committed to diversity and inclusiveness.  We are looking for an Embedded Systems Engineer to support us in the design and implementation of advanced grid-interactive systems to connect electric vehicles and renewable energy systems efficiently and effectively with the electricity grid. The intern is expected to program the control systems in some of our research and development activities.

The successful candidate will help us in designing, implementing, and securing our embedded devices. The tasks include formal design/analysis of the embedded system, profiling of codebases, optimizing the existing codebases, developing new and innovative solutions to solve the problems in a faster and safer manner, designing ways to break the system, and creating system and integration tests.

Qualified interns are:

  • Post-secondary students and graduates
  • No more than 30 years of age at the start of the internship
  • Canadian citizens, permanent residents or persons granted refugee status in Canada*
  • Legally allowed to work according to the relevant provincial and Canadian legislation and regulations
  • Available to work for at least six months
  • Not previous participants of a federal youth employment program
  • Not employees of the hiring employer prior to the start of their internship (does not apply to previous coop students or student interns)

*Refugee protection must be conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act. Persons awaiting refugee status, as well as those who hold a temporary visitor visa, student visa or work visa, are ineligible to participate in a Youth Employment Strategy initiative.
