Duties and responsibilities

Job Description

As an Energy Analyst Intern, your primary responsibility (70%-90%) will be assisting the project management team to create project proposals which detail the scope of work, current technology, replacement technology, energy savings, government incentives, project pay-back and the overall benefits of our projects. Through our training, you will acquire a clear understanding of the Ontario Energy Programs, current lighting technology and our energy reduction solutions. The Interns secondary responsibility (10%-30%) will be to assist the General Manager and other office admin duties as assigned.

Knowledge and skills


  • General eagerness to learn and contribute to a growing company
  • Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Strong attention to detail and problem solving abilities
  • Fluent in spoken and written English
  • Ability to multi-task, take initiative, prioritize, and manage time effectively
  • Experience in the energy, lighting or construction industry is a plus and preferable

Education required

  • Recent College / University graduate (four-year program preferred)

Qualified interns are:

  • Between the ages of 15-30 (inclusive) at the start of the internship
  • Canadian citizens, permanent residents or persons granted refugee status in Canada*
  • Legally allowed to work according to the relevant provincial and Canadian legislation and regulations
  • Not receiving employment insurance during their internship
  • Available to work for at least six months

*Refugee protection must be conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act. Persons awaiting refugee status, as well as those who hold a temporary visitor visa, student visa or work visa, are ineligible to participate in a Youth Employment Strategy initiative.
