We're a North Van company that believes change starts with our food. We're also pretty awesome carpenters and we invented a Self-Watering Garden system. We bring it all together to build the most functional, well crafted & long lasting gardens - that do honour to the wood and forests of our West Coast. We then dedicate ourselves to helping people grow their own food while supporting the community in anyway we can.

We are looking for a hardworking and energetic individual to join our team of builders and creative minds! This role will require someone who is:

Duties and responsibilities

The educational ambassador will help to inform and educate stakeholders on all aspects of the GardenWell self-watering system from the benefits of using sub-irrigation to how each part of the system works. The employee will reach out to stakeholders including clients and industry professionals by means of social media and email. Outreach will involve:

  • researching, bench marking, and messaging towards target markets
  • providing engaging text, image and video content
  • managing monthly newsletter mail out
  • handling stakeholder relationships
  • optimize marketing automation and lead nurturing processes through email, content, and social channels
  • assist with bringing new ideas for design and content creation to the team using design expertise

Knowledge and skills

  • Excellent communicator and creative thinker
  • Interest or willingness to learn about garden industry, veggie growing, sub-irrigation, and gardening a plus
  • Time management skills - work efficiently independently as well as part of a team

Education required

  • Experience managing social media (Hootsuite)
  • Graphic design experience a plus
  • MailChimp experience a plus
  • Sales and marketing education/experience

Qualified interns are:

  • Post-secondary graduates – this is not a requirement for residents of the Yukon, Northwest Territories and Nunavut applying for internships in those territories
  • Underemployed (employed below their level of education or work part-time)
  • Between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the internship
  • Canadian citizens, permanent residents or persons granted refugee status in Canada*
  • Legally allowed to work according to the relevant provincial and Canadian legislation and regulations
  • Not receiving employment insurance during their internship
  • Available to work for at least six months
  • Not previous participants of a federal youth employment program
  • Not employees of the hiring employer prior to the start of their internship (does not apply to previous coop students or student interns)

*Refugee protection must be conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act. Persons awaiting refugee status, as well as those who hold a temporary visitor visa, student visa or work visa, are ineligible to participate in a Youth Employment and Skills Strategy initiative.
