Description

  • Manages team of designers; delegating tasks, overseeing their completion working closely with project managers on target timelines
  • Provide leadership on specific digital design projects or portfolio of projects for all engineering activities post sales
  • lead and develop all final layouts, ballasting plans, construction plans, structural engineering plans and manufacturing BOM's for assigned projects
  • Lead and contributing to the development of our digital database platform
  • Support with digital product designs when requested

Duties and responsibilities

  • Strong attention to detail is a must, specifically across language versions, platforms, compliance with Quality Assurance and engineering guidelines
  • Accountable for finale project related tasks, reviewing drafter's work and critiquing with the aim that the same mistakes will not be repeated
  • Accountable for transitioning standard design projects, into online data base for digital viewing and editing
  • Accountable for ensuring all digital product documentation, meet corporate standards, including part numbering, document control, revision control, etc
  • Manage project engineering schedules and adjust priorities based on supply chain and project management expectations
  • coordinate with external vendors for special design projects
  • Offer support to proposal engineering when requested

Knowledge and skills

  • Experience with CMS, Rhino 3D or Revit software systems is preferred.
  • Proficiency using HTML and CSS and working knowledge of Photoshop and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Strong understanding of designer codes and standards, including NBC, IBC, CSA, UL, ASCE, SEOAC

Education required

  • Minimum college or university degree in mechanical or civil engineering, graphic design, architecture or similar equivalent programs

Qualified interns are:

  • Post-secondary graduates – this is not a requirement for residents of the Yukon, Northwest Territories and Nunavut applying for internships in those territories
  • Underemployed (employed below their level of education or work part-time)
  • Between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the internship
  • Canadian citizens, permanent residents or persons granted refugee status in Canada*
  • Legally allowed to work according to the relevant provincial and Canadian legislation and regulations
  • Available to work for at least six months
  • Not employees of the hiring employer prior to the start of their internship (does not apply to previous coop students or student interns)

*Refugee protection must be conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act. Persons awaiting refugee status, as well as those who hold a temporary visitor visa, student visa or work visa, are ineligible to participate in a Youth Employment and Skills Strategy initiative.
