At this time we are looking for a Data/Process Analyst to join our team who preferably possesses vehicle CAN bus interfacing expertise and is proficient with hands-on electrical wiring. The ideal candidate can create custom data analysis code as well as utilize existing tools and is proficient in succinctly summarizing data in easily digestible management reports to support our pilot vehicle development program.

 

Duties and responsibilities

Responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to:

  • Developing novel analysis process flows using commercially available software such as Microsoft Excel, MATLAB, Simulink and Mathcad as well as fully-custom data processing scripts using C, C++, and Python programming languages
  • Creating custom data analysis scripts to process collected CAN bus vehicle data
  • Sourcing, assembling and testing data acquisition systems for use on on-road tests
  • Conducting on-road vehicle testing and calibration
  • Troubleshooting and debugging vehicle control system related issues
  • Developing custom microcontroller-based hardware for data collection and/or system control over CAN bus
  • Preparing data analysis summary reports and presenting to management weekly
  • Identifying opportunities to improve vehicle system performance and presenting recommendation with proposed development plan to senior management
  • Tracking project activities and timelines to ensure timely completion of all project tasks

 

Knowledge and skills

Candidates must possess the following skills and experience:

  • Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronic, Computer or Software Engineering, or equivalent with 1-5 years' experience with data collection and analysis techniques including some experience with vehicle CAN bus interfacing
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, C and Python
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong research, data analysis and reporting abilities
  • Excellent time management skills

Education required

  • Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronic, Computer or Software Engineering, or equivalent  with 1-5 years' experience with data collection and analysis techniques including some experience with vehicle CAN bus interfacing
