Hybrid Power Solutions is a small business with a high growth potential focused in the clean tech market. We primarily focus on two areas: fuel free power packs that replace gas and diesel generators as well as custom industrial battery system for industrial applications (military, mining, transits). Our products can be used to power tools, lighting and any equipment on a construction site, provide power in an RV or boat or even power troop tents in remote areas. Requirements:

University or College degree in engineering related course
Inventor/Solidworks 3D modelling experience
Familiar with CSA, IES, ESA, MIL standards is a plus
Interest in battery technology, clean tech and renewable energy

Start Date: ImmediatelyApplication Requirements: Must include a cover letter (not a generic cover letter). Applications without a cover letter will not be assessed.

This is a contract position with potential for full time hire after the first 6-8 month term but not guaranteed.

Contract length: 6-8 months

Duties and responsibilities

  • CAD 3D modelling of battery systems
  • Shock vibration testing
  • Sheet metal design
  • CNC design
  • Assembly and testing of prototypes

Knowledge and skills

  • Sheet metal design and working drawings development
  • FEA and CFD experience
  • 1-7 years of engineering experience
  • Basic electrical knowledge
  • Vibration and shock understanding is a plus

Education required

  • University or College degree in engineering related course
  • Inventor/Solidworks 3D modelling experience

  • Interest in battery technology, clean tech and renewable energy

Qualified interns are:

  • Between the ages of 15-30 (inclusive) at the start of the internship
  • Canadian citizens, permanent residents or persons granted refugee status in Canada*
  • Legally allowed to work according to the relevant provincial and Canadian legislation and regulations
  • Available to work for at least six months
  • Not previous participants of a federal youth employment program
  • Not employees of the hiring employer prior to the start of their internship (does not apply to previous coop students or student interns, although this must be clearly indicated by the employer)

*Refugee protection must be conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act. Persons awaiting refugee status, as well as those who hold a temporary visitor visa, student visa or work visa, are ineligible to participate in a Youth Employment Strategy initiative.
