The Associate, Innovation & Commercialization will join an interdisciplinary team at Emerson Electric. The candidate will be supporting our products and services in Renewable Gas, Fuel Gas Boosting, Combined Heat & Power, Liquified Natural Gas, Hydrogen, etc. applications within the U.S. and Canada. The intern will be using technical expertise to partner with customers and solve their most challenging compression needs.

Duties and responsibilities

The candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks, some of them outlined below:

  • Lead customer-innovation programs by engaging with end users, facilitating discovery sessions and synthesizing feedback to create solutions that address customer needs
  • Support the implementation and cultural adoption of innovations, innovation processes, and outcomes within the organization
  • Respond to customer RFIs, RFPs, RFQs related to data services
  • Understand and synthesize market trends and changes in the ecosystem

Knowledge and skills

The intern should possess the following:

  • Experience leading or working directly on large-scale programs an asset
  • 3+ Years of progressive experience in an entrepreneurial corporate or start-up environment
  • Strong communication and presentation skills

Education required

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field or Commerce

Eligibility criteria

Qualified interns are:

  • Between the ages of 15-30 (inclusive) at the start of the internship
  • Canadian citizens, permanent residents or persons granted refugee status in Canada*
  • Legally allowed to work according to the relevant provincial and Canadian legislation and regulations
  • Available to work for at least six months
  • Not previous participants of a federal youth employment program
  • Not employees of the hiring employer prior to the start of their internship (does not apply to previous coop students or student interns, although this must be clearly indicated by the employer)

*Refugee protection must be conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act. Persons awaiting refugee status, as well as those who hold a temporary visitor visa, student visa or work visa, are ineligible to participate in a Youth Employment Strategy initiative.
