Description

The Digital Media Content Creator will work with the Keepers of the Circle, an Indigenous Hub located in the District of Temiskaming to create engaging, appealing and on-brand visual communications for course delivery on Indigenous Traditional Knowledge about harvesting methods, agricultural practices and low-carbon living using a variety of media. They would also be responsible for promotional efforts that include the entire process of defining requirements, visualizing and crafting cohesive graphics including illustrations, layouts, photographs, and animation and video. This position is responsible for shaping and reshaping the visual aspects of marketing materials, presentations, course material, digital graphics, brochures, product packaging, exhibitions and more.

This position reports to the Executive Director

Tâches et responsabilités

  • Create illustrations, animations, video and other designs using Adobe software
  • Develop promotional material and course material on harvesting, agricultural production and other low-carbon living methods
  • Promote events, opportunities and offerings via social media channels and other online event calendars and tools
  • Execute on digital marketing campaigns to increase web traffic and conversions, using all necessary tools (e.g. website, emails, social media, blogs)
  • Stay well informed in digital media trends
  • Ensure all visual communications abide by the brand guidelines
  • Provide input on the refinement and maintenance of branding guidelines
  • Perform other related duties in keeping with the purpose and accountabilities of the job
  • Support the delivery of our virtual events, creating content, promoting, and capturing and sharing highlights to educate our community around the low-carbon living. This includes a weekly Brown Bag Lunch series and other workshops and larger events
  • Execute on member promotion requests
  • Write and curate content for the Impact Hub Ottawa website, social media channels, weekly member newsletter and community newsletters
  • Support with the execution of online advertising needs
  • Build strong member relationships through social media interaction
  • Ensure brand consistency through all marketing channels
  • Collaborate with the team members to display and enhance the expression of our organization's mission, vision and values

Connaissances et compétences

Applicants for this internship must be Canadian citizen or permanent resident, under 30 years of age

  • Experience in graphic design and various social media platforms
  • Excellent knowledge and proficiency of design software applications and tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop
  • Strong production skills
  • Effects, Premiere Pro) and Microsoft Suite (PowerPoint)
  • Experience working in collaborative environments
  • An excellent communicator
  • Attention to detail
  • Indigenous language skills are given preference
  • Drivers license

Scolarité requise

Post secondary education in a field relating to communications, or marketing, or 1+ years’ experience in a marketing role

An equivalent combination of education, experience and skills will be considered.

Eligibility criteria
