Career Launcher internships give you access to meaningful work experience and training, giving you the skills needed in Canada’s ever-evolving economy. Students and grads get real-world experience in our clean tech, digital tech, natural resources and ImpAct internships.
Funded by the Government of Canada as part of their Youth Employment and Skills Strategy, which helps young Canadians develop the skills and gain the experience they need to successfully transition into the labour market.

What you need to know
The minimum eligibility criteria for interns are:
- Between the ages of 15-30 (inclusive) at the start of the internship
- Canadian citizen, permanent resident or person granted refugee status in Canada*
- Legally allowed to work according to the relevant provincial and Canadian legislation and regulations
*Refugee protection must be conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act. Persons awaiting refugee status, as well as those who hold a temporary visitor visa, student visa or work visa, are ineligible to participate in a Youth Employment and Skills Strategy initiative.
Additional intern eligibility Natural Resources Internships
- Available to work up to 12 months
Cannot be:
- Previous participants of a Science and Technology Internship Program
- Employees of the hiring employer prior to the start of their internship (does not apply to previous coop students or student interns, although this must be clearly indicated by the employer)
Additional intern eligibility Digital Tech Internships
- Post-secondary graduates – this is not a requirement for residents of the Yukon, Northwest Territories and Nunavut applying for internships in those territories
- Underemployed (employed below their level of education, work part-time or unemployed)
- Available to work up to six months
Cannot be:
- Previous participants of a DS4Y internship
- University or college co-op or intern students
- Employees of the hiring employer prior to the start of their internship (does not apply to previous coop students or student interns, although this must be clearly indicated by the employer)
